March Madness

Despite the final games to be played this upcoming weekend to crown a national champion, Owen, Paxton, and I were bummed to watch the Cornell Big Red fall easily at the hands of the Cardinal and to watch the Spartans eventually fall to a superior Memphis squad. There's always next year. Time to turn our attention to opening day and the Cubs & Tigers.

Between basketball games, Paxton (now 7 weeks) managed to find some time to workout in her swing. The little lady is benchpressing without a bar or any weights while watching the mobile of bears above her head. This is certainly a candidate for a Faces of Paxton installment.Owen and Paxton also found time to hang out with uncle Saif. He was in town for a conference and managed to come in a day early to catch up with our crew.It was great to see him, regardless of his continued efforts to turn both kids into Yalies.

Happy Easter 2008!

Despite the snow on the ground and the early date on the calendar this year, celebrating Easter has us all thinking spring. Happy Easter everyone!

Celebrating the holiday started early this year in our household. Brecken and Owen have been keeping busy with decorating activities in the kitchen. From eggs to cakes, bright colors have been everywhere.

However, the egg hunt is certainly what Owen has been anticipating more than ever. It's hard to blame the two year old for such excitement for decorated eggs and baskets full of treats. Here are a few action shots of his tour around the house.

We had a great day as a family this year, and we enjoyed visiting with Melissa, John, Lucy, and their family for a wonderful holiday dinner this evening.

Where did you go?

We're still here. When you change so many diapers, it is hard to say that time has flown by, but in many ways that is how it feels. In fact, Paxton has already hit the six week mark.

She may sleep a lot, but she also gets time on her tummy and with her toys. The challenge for her is competing for toy-time with her brother. The little guy has developed a renewed sense of interest in his "old" toys.

Let the friendly rivalry begin.

Mom, Dad, and Owee Time

Paxton has been balancing her time between the three of us lately. Despite my interest in letting Owen handle the overnight duties, Brecken maintains that is a bad idea. Therefore, we're spreading the wealth during the daylight hours.

As each day passes, Paxton is revealing more and more of her personality and spending more and more time wide eyed and curious about her surroundings.

To the Little Ones go the Spoils

For the past several days, Owen and Paxton played host to Grandma and Grandpa L. For every crying moment that the little lady tossed out, grandma was quick to swoop her up to offer a comforting shoulder.In the process, grandma also provided Brecken and I with some much appreciated free time from everyday parenting duties. Meanwhile, Owen and "Papi" took advantage of the sunny weekend and excess snow in the back yard to have a good old fashioned snowball fight. It was Owen's first time throwing snowballs, and he had a great time. He through them at Papi from the driveway......and from the mountain in the backyard......and from the steps to the porch.
The little guy showed a lot of potential in that right arm.Thanks Grandma and Papi for all of the entertainment. We can't wait to see you again soon.

Cinderella? It's time to dance!

For the first time in 20 years, a team other than Penn or Princeton will be representing the Ivy League in the NCAA tournament. Following a blowout win over Harvard, the Big Red of Cornell secured the conference crown and a spot in the big dance.

We have to wait two weeks for the brackets to reveal the opening round competition. Looking for a potential 13 or 14 seed. GO BIG RED!
