Suburban Water Park

Owen, Brecken, and I spent Sunday afternoon trekking around the Chicago burbs, including a little time in downtown La Grange. Owen could care less about the nice weather or eating lunch outside, as he was completely focused on the "bubbling" water fountain.
Shoes off, pants rolled up, and not a care in the world, Owen walked through the water with reckless abandon until Brecken caught up with him and let him soak his feet for a few minutes.
Nothing like polluting the local fountain with Owen's stinky toes. Urban kids are so mischievous.

Summer Treats

These pictures are now a few weeks old, but with the nice weather spoiling us again this week, it is worth extending out the opportunity to enjoy some frosty summer delights...or at least find an excuse to post to the blog for the first time in two weeks.

Let's keep the weather going. Oh...and Let's Go State. ND 0-4!

Half Marathon

Owen was very excited to have guests this weekend. Mike, Cristin, and Baby Kate came to visit and to enjoy a little time out on the town. On Saturday night, Owen and "baby Kate" loved riding the escalators at 900 N and riding in their strollers along Michigan Ave.
On Sunday morning, Mike and I overcame the heat and humidity to complete the Chicago Half Marathon.
Time to identify the next race on the calendar...

A Night at the Fair

We spent the weekend with Grandma and Papi L in Toledo, taking in a wonderful holiday weekend of weather and activities. While we managed to do a lot of fun things, one of the highlights was definitely our Sunday evening visit to the 150th annual Fulton County Fair.
We were joined by Grandma, Graydon, Uncle Mark, and Aunt Kathi. Following a giant milkshake from the dairy bar, a cheeseburger from the beef stand, and a quick stop to sit on the tractors, Owen headed to the traveling midway to use up all the tickets Papi bought him for rides.
Everyone took turns entertaining Owen on the merry-go-round, the rocket, and especially the "choo choo."This may be a bit dark, but here is a quick pass of Owen, Great Grandma June, and Brecken on the train.
