Faces of Owen - Part III

It has been about ten months since we put together a faces of Owen. Here is the latest installment, highlighting some of the looks of 2007, Jan 1 to present. The next faces of Owen may prove to be a "Words of Owen" video reel, but I have to teach him to stop smiling at the camera to make that possible.

Two Little Monkeys

Owen and Joey spent Wed afternoon strutting their stuff. With pal Julie providing the lyrical guidance, these two provided a little evidence that they may be more comfortable on the dance floor than their fathers.

Before anyone starts diagnosing narcolepsy, it is worth noting that this sequence started a matter of minutes after Joey awoke from his nap. I think that explains the tendency to go to sleep after every sequence, or maybe it is simply evidence of his amazing acting talent when it comes to falling down and breaking his head.

Lazy Days

For at least a few days, both Owen and I are enjoying the lazy days of summer. This afternoon, we took advantage of clear skies and warm temperatures, checking out the lakefront and one of the neighborhood parks.
I realize it's long, but here are some of the video moments. We really need to work on the frisbee throwing motion. However, it's worth noting that the second toss caught the wind and an unfavorable roll, working it's way about 30 yards down the path before depositing itself in the water. In his way with words, Owen turned to me and uttered, "Uh oh." Yeah, we're in search of a new frisbee.

Cousin Time!

With Brecken and I enjoying a little vacation to our nation's capital, Owen spent the last several days hanging out with Grandma C and his cousin Bekah. They entertained one another all over town, enjoying walks, hanging out in the sandbox, reading books, and partaking in ice cream and smoothies. Thanks to Bekah and Grandma for all the fun. Owen is lucky to have such a fun cousin, and he can't wait to see you again soon.

Graduation!

It's been a crazy week, and thus the drop off in posts, but here is a quick post to celebrate the end of b-school.
Now all I have to do is figure out whether or not to drop the "GSB" from the title of this blog.
Cheers!

Little Frat Boy

How many houses are you aware of that offer adirondack chairs in the kitchen? Maybe a summer cottage, or maybe a place where a bunch of guys thought bringing outdoor furniture inside seemed like a good idea?

Well, in our case, it seems more like the latter. Mr. Owen was so enamored with his new outdoor deck chair that it has made its way back inside the house. To cap it off, he insists on having a cold beverage on the armrest, snacks on his lap, and a festive shirt on his back. I present you with little frat boy Owen...
That being said, I can already anticipate the comments from our Big 10 and SEC friends, highlighting what makes this frat boy a little too Ivy for their liking. As they affectionately remind me, most fraternity guys don't sit around enjoying strawberries and cream like the Cornell brethren. Oh well...Owen's tossed rasberries into this mix.
Counteracting any concerns of early fraternity initiation, Brecken has started putting Owen in outfits like the following.
All he needs is a beanie.

No More Teachers, No More Books...The Final Day

I guess it isn't really over until I pick up my diploma on Sunday afternoon, but turning in my last final on Monday afternoon is sure to feel like the end of the MBA road.

While the mind was easily distracted in the last few days, I did manage to focus long enough to assemble one last paper, and I did manage to run it by my personal proof reader.

Right or wrong, it won't be the first time a finance professor has accused me of possessing a simple vocabulary. Liquid refreshments are on me Monday evening!
