Vroom....vroom
It wasn't too long ago that Brecken and I would get together with friends on a Sunday evening to enjoy a few bottles of wine and a creative menu of culinary delight. The "gourmet club" was a way of life and an exercise in excess that we all enjoyed. These days, rather than the sounds and smells of corks and store-bought egg nog from the chef-now-known-as-Drew, our get togethers involve the vroom of plastic trucks and the vroom of toy chainsaws....signs of a new generation.
Over the weekend, we ventured up to Madison, WI to relive old moments and to create a few more for posterity. As suggested, the new moments will undoubtedly involve this cast of characters:
There must have been something in those menus that increased the odds of boys. No girls to speak of among these four families, thus the trucks and chainsaws.

Talk about being spoiled. To good friends and good times...thank you to Sarah, Michael, Karie, Steve, Jed & Radhika for a fantastic weekend.

Other than this pre-nap moment of weakness, Owen seemed to really enjoy playing with all of the "new" toys and getting to hang out with Eli, Anand, Vivek, Tanner, and Clay. They are all characters in their own right, in a very good way.
Oh yeah...despite promises to the contrary, there is one more birthday related post. Led by the great singing of Master Clay, Owen was treated to one last birthday celebration.

Talk about being spoiled. To good friends and good times...thank you to Sarah, Michael, Karie, Steve, Jed & Radhika for a fantastic weekend.
