Trick-or-Treat 2009

Quite a bit cooler than the year before, but trick-or-treating 2009 was a great time for everyone. Brecken, Owen, Paxton, and I braved our way around the neighborhood, knocking on doors, collecting candy, walking through a haunted house, and picking up a few libations along the way. After trick or treating, we were joined at home by Owen's friend Jack and his family for dinner while other trick-or-treaters continued to knock on our door in search of goodies.
Paxton had done a little bit of trick-or-treating last year, primarily by sitting in the stroller. It did not take little-miss-independent very long to catch on to the routine this year. She would not be denied her shot at the candy dish or the front steps of a house. The only thing that deterred her was a random guy sitting in a rocking chair wearing a mask from the movie Scream. She wanted nothing to do with that front porch. Otherwise, it was all business..err fun...for she and Owen.
The morning after, there was nothing but candy talk as the kids got out of bed. Nothing like another chance to count and sort the loot.
Master Owen was also very helpful in sorting out the tree-nut-not-so-friendly stuff. Easily 5:1 in his favor on the night.
