Father-Son Camping

We missed out on the annual Dads and Kids camping with the crew from Madison this summer, but Owen and I made up for it with a little get together with Joey and his dad Phil. An early fall outing made for a cool evening and comfortable sleeping.

This was Joey's first camping outing, and he was a champ. Once the hotdogs had been roasted, the smores fully melted, and the evening gave way to nighttime, both boys managed to call it an evening without too much of a fight.
Of course, as 3 year olds will do, and as the pictures indicate, the next day started at the crack of dawn. Trying to keep these guys quiet while the campers in adjacent sites tried to sleep was not quite so easy. A good time and a possible new tradition for these old friends.
