Negotiating with the Little Lady

In the weeks leading up to Owen's arrival, we joked about what would ultimately trigger his appearance. Would it be spicy food, driving over winter potholes, my complaints about a b-school problem set, or maybe even the mental pleas of a mother wanting to get on with things? Ultimately, it was the doctor and a kind dose of pitocin that jumpstarted the little dude. I guess the rest is well documented.
This time around, Brecken and I are once again left pondering. With two weeks to go before the due date, the nursery has started to come together and the family is seemingly ready. Doubtful of the aforementioned tactics, Brecken has deployed a secret weapon this time...the big brother. The following picture is probably worthy of a caption contest, but truth be told, Owen is yelling "Baby Sister, It's Owee!" into Brecken's tummy.

It is unclear to me whether such behavior would entice or deter the thought of arrival, but Brecken seems willing to try anything, and Owen was definitely humored by the participation. We hope to have news for everyone sometime soon...

Reminiscent of a photo from Nov 6, 2005.
