Goodbye Summer...Hello Fall

We keep hoping that the cool days in Chicago are going to pass and that summer will hold on for a few more weeks, but it is starting to seem less and less likely.

The onset of fall signals a few things this year. First, it means a return to the classroom. I am wrapping up my summer internship this week and preparing to kickoff my second year of b-school next week. Well aware of my need to brush up on the academics, Owen has started to read the paper again. Here he is reading up on the Money & Investing section of the Wall Street Journal.

He has a soft spot for hedge funds but has been keeping a close eye and ear on Bernanke and his interest rate indicators. While most dad's put their kids to bed with storytime, I sit down with Owen for a daily debrief.

The other fun thing about the fall is the return of football season. Brecken is terribly proud of my performance this weekend, taking in no less than three games on Sunday and two on Monday. Ah...life is good. Owen, meanwhile, has been spending a lot of time working on his blitz moves. He spends a lot of time in a three point stance, and I've been helping him work on exploding off the snap. Here is a quick shot of him utilizing the swim move to get around the swinging dresser door defender.
His mom is trying to peak his interest in country club sports, but the little guy seems more interested in tumbling around and getting dirty. 'ata boy!

Finally...over the weekend we got together with a great group of old PwC friends to celebrate Ryan and Aimee's wedding.

It's hard to believe that it has been 7 or 8 years since we were all working together in warehouses around the country. AP might not have gotten the most loyal WMS'ers, but he sure did recruit a fun group of people. Cheers to fall and to friends!
