Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!
Cheers to all of the moms out there that help to make every day a little bit brighter and a little bit easier on the rest of us. It's certainly no different in our household. This mother's day weekend, we managed to meet up with Grandma L and Great Grandma Glitzy (Papi too) for dinner on Saturday evening in South Bend.
It was great to see Glitzy for the first time since returning from Florida, and Grandma and Papi outdid themselves yet again by spoiling the kids with fun toys. Papi also revealed the early stages of the tree house that he is building at Owen's request. He and Owen have some fine tuning to do the next time we visit.

On Sunday morning, Paxton and I woke up early to help get things in motion for Brecken, including freshly made waffles and coffee in bed.(Sidebar: Do mom's really like to eat breakfast in bed, or is it a nerve-racking mess waiting to happen? If I had a nickel for every facebook post today that mentioned breakfast-in-bed, I'd be a semi-rich man. Interesting...)

Regardless of whether they like it or not, I guess it's the thought that counts, and the look on a proud Paxton's face when she was able to join mom for breakfast makes it all worthwhile.

This evening, we took the show downtown for what one hopes is a mother's day tradition, brunch/dinner at the Four Seasons.

We had a wonderful meal full of tasty treats and good company. Paxton, like her mother, had a particular soft spot for the dessert offerings at the kid's station.

Both kids also enjoyed the opportunity to do crafts in the kids "castle." It just looks like we're in someone's basement...

At the end of the evening, the kids put on a little display that they called "what makes mommy so proud of us -- dance moves."

Happy Mother's Day to one and all. We're in good hands.
