July 4th Weekend at the Lake

Happy 4th of July! For the second straight weekend, we braved the traffic on 294 to spend some time at the lake. Grandma, Bekah, and Papa C were out of town for Fernando and Barbara's wedding in Avila, but we still managed to have a great time. It was a weekend of firsts for both of the kids.

• Owen caught his first fish without any help; a real whopper of a 4 inch sunfish with a worm.
• Paxton went swimming for the first time. She was a little apprehensive, but there was no crying.
• Owen climbed into the lake to walk around and play in the water (goggles a bit of a joke on the part of Brecken and I).
• Paxton ate baby cereal for the first time. For the most part, Paxton followed suit with her brother at this point in life...drooling a majority of the "food" out onto her bib and clothes.
• Owen played with his first sparkler and watched his first fireworks display.
