King on the Mountain

Following a little bit of new snow on Friday evening, the skies opened up to deliver a lot of snow on Saturday afternoon and evening, creating a winter playground for Owen in the back yard. Here he is standing atop Mt Owen, the man-made result of a lot of shoveling and a borrowed snowblower from the neighbors.
Owen was excited to be high enough up to be able to see Brecken inside the house. Having reached the summit with relative ease, Owen's real challenge came on the return to base camp. After a few uneasy steps...
...Owen elected to take the easy route down the backside of the mountain.
Earlier in the weekend, Owen and his buddy Joey visited the local arboretum to see the holiday train setup.
The trains brought out the childhood concentration in everyone.
After seeing the trains, we ventured outdoors into the big maze and children's area. Snow covered paths, benches and tunnels provided more than enough "adventure" for Owen.
He couldn't get enough and was less than thrilled to go home.
